PATH Admissions Criteria and Process

Who is eligible to participate in the PATH Transition program?
- Individuals ages 18-25 with a documented primary diagnosis of autism
- Individuals who are motivated to engage in all aspects of the program including all academic and social activities
- Individuals who have appropriate social, emotional, and behavioral skills to participate in all aspects of the program
Participants must be able to:
- Participate in a classroom setting and navigate a college campus independently
- Participate in vocational training and internship experiences
- Participate in group discussions with multiple points of view
- Receive and implement feedback
The PATH program is not suitable for individuals who:
- Have challenging or severe behaviors
- Engage in self-injurious behaviors
- Engage in behaviors that have the potential to harm others
- Have an aversion to noise or groups
- Need assistance with self-care or medication administration
The Application Process:
- Complete the application form. The applicant should complete the form as independently as possible.
- Obtain 2 recommendations using the recommendation form. This form should be completed by a non-family member who has direct knowledge of the individual’s educational and vocational abilities.
- Submit the completed application and recommendations along with the following documentation:
- Official High School transcript
- Most recent IEP
- If applicable, Educational Evaluations
- If applicable, Psychological/Behavioral Evaluation
- If applicable, transcripts/certificates from post-secondary experiences
- If applicable, guardianship documentation
- Submit all documentation by attaching it to the last page of the application form
- Submit the completed Applicant Questionnaire. The applicant should complete this form independently.
- Applicants who are eligible will be invited to participate in an interview.
- Applicants will be notified of their application status by email.
